An interesting evening
We went out to this sort of model village on the recommendation of one of mum's business associates. It is basically a kind of theme park India style to exhibit the local Rajasthan culture. It was about 25 minutes outside of Jaipur along a main road, and it seemed to be pretty popular (mainly with Indians actually - very few westerners). It was all of about 4 quid to get in, and that included your traditional Rajasthani meal (vegetarian of course at that price), but there was a lot of different food given to you and it was very authentic.
There were all sorts of other things to do there - there was a little museum, lots of traditional dancers, little shops and animal rides etc.
Pictures are below...
Me having a go at the archery - see there's one of my arrows in the bullseye heart shape
More archery
Ditto
Me on a camel
Me on an elephant!
The Rajasthani dining tent
Camel again
Me with a turban which was rather too small for my big head...
Those little white specks are...wait for it...mosquitos...I seemed to have sat down next to a flying ball of them. Fortunately I had very effective repellent
