Buenos Aires

The flight to BA was quite good although a bit delayed. I had a row of 3 seats to myself, so I was able to stretch out a bit, and had a nice window seat too. When we were landing, I noticed out the window an unusual bit of light around the shadow of the plane. Upon closer inspection it appeared to be a circular rainbow...see pics below.

Buenos Aires is a bit overcast and unfortunately I don't have too long to see it. I went on a city tour this morning and I am going to a tango show this evening, so I should get a good idea of what the city is like even though I'm only here for a short time.

BA is a mishmash of all sorts of styles and feels. There is the poor area which has colourful (and not so colourful) houses made from wood and cobbled together tin, then you have the very modern dock area where my hotel is which is apparently based on the Liverpool docks.

The hotel is really something else. Designed by Philippe Starck, it is a converted warehouse and is stunning inside. There are a few photos below, but have a look at their website for more of a feel: http://www.faenahotelanduniverse.com/index2.html

Here are some photos from the last two days:
